Job summary

Telnyx is seeking a senior engineer who lives at the seam between software and the network to build customer-facing APIs and automation. You’ll own API design, orchestration, and the fleet-wide configuration that translates POST requests into router actions across PoPs.

You should be strong in async Python, comfortable with Go, and able to read FRR or VyOS configs while tackling async-job, rollback, and eventual-consistency challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Built and operated customer-facing REST APIs over real infrastructure.
• Strong in async Python in production and comfortable with Go.
• Knowledge of BGP, VRFs, NAT, GRE tunnels, and WireGuard.
• Postgres migrations and locking semantics experience.
• Hands-on network automation at scale with Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design the public API resource and OpenAPI specs.
• Implement orchestration that translates requests into deployments.
• Develop the network automation layer with SSH and template configs.
• Handle cloud interconnect integrations with providers.
• Maintain Envoy/xDS data planes and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot incidents spanning app logic and network.
