Job summary

State Street is seeking a Java Developer for the Charles River Development (CRD) modules within the Alpha Platform. You will work in an agile scrum team to enhance and maintain critical components, collaborating with analysts and product managers to deliver scalable software solutions.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring, Kafka, and backend microservices in a cloud-enabled environment. You will participate in design reviews, code quality improvements, and cross-team coordination, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of full lifecycle Java development experience in a similar industry.
• Strong skills in core Java, server-side Java, Spring, SQL, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug Java-based modules within CRD components.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to deliver sustainable software solutions.
• Lead code reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Engage in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Support large, mission-critical client implementations and troubleshooting.

Summary

Act as Java Developer responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Alpha/Charles River Development modules or components of an agile scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems
• Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues
• Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java and being open to learn and utilize needed languages
• Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews
• Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
• Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignments
• Demonstrate more independence of design and development
• Mentor and guide Junior Engineers

Qualifications

Recommended Education:

• B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience with full lifecycle of project development for Java applications from similar industry
• Strong skills in core Java, server-side Java technologies, and Spring frameworks using Agile methodologies and SQL database
• Experience in backend technologies like Kafka, Microservices

Nice To have

• Experience / understanding of Kubernetes and experience with a cloud platform: Azure, etc.
• Experience with object-oriented programming Relational databases (RDBMS), scripting and new/advanced programming languages
• Experience Frontend technologies like React
• Experience in financial services developing solutions for Wealth Management

Minimum Salary

zł182 004 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
