Shared Tech QA supports studio-wide technologies used across multiple products and teams – covering engine systems, tools, pipelines, and cross-project features. This role is crucial for ensuring shared solutions are stable, scalable, and maintainable across platforms and long-term roadmaps. If you enjoy testing complex systems, collaborating closely with technical teams, and driving quality improvements that benefit multiple projects at once – we’d love to hear from you.
Daily responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive testing and verification of shared engine systems, tools, pipelines, and cross-project features, including performance, stability, integration, and cross-platform checks across multiple teams.
Develop, execute, and continuously optimize advanced, reusable test cases, test suites, and test plans (manual and automated) designed for long-term maintainability and consistency across multiple projects.
Collaborate closely with shared technology developers, tools programmers, technical artists, and downstream project teams to identify, document, and resolve issues – ensuring reliable solutions for studio-wide use.
Analyze test results, identify systemic root causes, and provide actionable insights that improve robustness, performance, and adoption of shared technologies.
Participate in risk assessments, quality strategy planning, and process improvements, adapting to shifting priorities across multiple projects and platform roadmaps.
Create and refine quality reports and dashboards using data/analytics tools to highlight cross-project trends and support strategic decision-making.
Contribute to maintaining and improving technical documentation for shared technologies, including test coverage guidelines, known limitations, and QA best practices for broad studio use.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams in a shared services environment.
Proven experience coordinating QA activities across internal teams and external partners, including ownership of planning, prioritization, timelines, and risk management.
5+ years of experience as a Tech QA Analyst or in a similar senior technical QA role, ideally supporting internal tools, platforms, pipelines, or shared technologies.
Hands‑on experience contributing to or supporting at least one shipped AA/AAA title, with a solid understanding of production realities and dependencies between teams.
Deep understanding of testing methodologies for complex systems, including integration, regression, performance, stress, and long-term stability testing.
Strong experience validating technologies built on or integrated with game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity, Godot, REDengine/REDkit), with awareness of engine-level constraints and workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build system workflows, RoboMerge, and Perforce.
Solid knowledge of content and asset creation pipelines, and the ability to identify systemic pipeline risks.
Proven experience testing across multiple platforms and environments, including PC and major consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), with an understanding of platform constraints.
Ability to design, own, and evolve test strategies for shared technologies used by multiple products and teams.
Experience leveraging QA tools, automation frameworks, and diagnostic solutions to improve coverage, efficiency, and signal quality at scale.
Strong analytical and systems‑thinking skills, with the ability to identify cross‑team risks and long‑term improvement opportunities.
Proven experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, test plans, quality guidelines, and test reports for broad internal use.
Ability to mentor, guide, and support other QA team members through knowledge sharing and best practices (no formal people management required).
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Passion for games and game development, with a strong sense of ownership over the quality of shared technologies.
