Job summary

Scalac Inc. is seeking a Senior Scala Developer for a globally recognized fintech project focused on post-trade automation and large-scale financial systems. The role offers fully remote work with collaboration across London-based engineering teams.

You will design real-time data streaming components, build services with Akka, develop Kafka consumers, and work with PostgreSQL/Slick. Strong Scala, Akka, Kafka, ZIO skills and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of commercial Scala experience.
• Strong knowledge of Akka Actors & Akka Streams.
• Hands-on experience with ZIO in production environments.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka and distributed systems.
• Experience with testing asynchronous applications.
• Knowledge of AWS/cloud environments.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing real-time financial data streaming components.
• Building and maintaining services based on Akka (Actors, Streams, HTTP).
• Developing Kafka consumers with proper offset handling and advanced error management.
• Working with Slick and PostgreSQL (schema modeling, queries, migrations).
• Writing unit and integration tests, especially for asynchronous code.
• Collaborating directly with the client’s engineering team in London.
