Job summary

MWDN is hiring senior engineers for our Israel-based client building next-generation infrastructure for Big Data systems. You will own complex components end-to-end, focusing on Rust and low-level performance optimizations in distributed systems such as Spark, Hadoop, and Ray.

We seek 5+ years of systems programming, deep knowledge of computer architecture, memory/layout optimizations, and the ability to work with minimal abstraction layers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Rust and low-level systems programming.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture, OS, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with multi-threading, memory layout optimization, or custom allocators.
• Proven ability to own complex challenges from inception to delivery.
• Ability to dive into unfamiliar codebases and optimize quickly.
• Comfortable with minimal abstraction in high-performance environments.
• Fluent English (C1) required.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate distributed systems like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Ray.
• Build native Rust-based execution engines.
• Perform deep performance tuning (cache locality, SIMD, zero-copy IO).

• Experience in low-level system architecture
• Experience with multi-threading, memory layout optimization, or custom allocators
• Proven ability to take full ownership of complex challenges from inception to delivery, with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
• Ability to dive into unfamiliar codebases and optimize them quickly
• Comfortable working with minimal abstraction layers in high-performance environments
• Level of spoken English: Fluent (C1)
