Job summary

SOFTSWISS is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to design and evolve high-throughput Rails services powering our iGaming platform. You will work with AI-assisted tooling to deliver fast yet robust features, owning production behaviour and edge cases.

You will collaborate on architecture, optimize PostgreSQL queries, and mentor mid-level engineers while upholding quality and security in a dynamic, high-load environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial Ruby on Rails experience.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills: indexing, query planning, migrations on large tables without downtime.
• Solid grasp of distributed-system fundamentals: message queues, idempotency, eventual consistency, background jobs.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a clear opinion on their use.
• Ability to spot a plausible-looking hallucinated API in code reviews.
• Experience designing and consuming REST or gRPC APIs; OpenAPI familiarity.
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD, Docker; comfortable with Kubernetes manifests and logs.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry or OpenTelemetry).
• Upper-Intermediate or higher English and Russian.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve Rails services powering the iGaming platform: high-throughput APIs, payments, real-time game integrations.
• Work in an AI-augmented workflow using coding assistants for scaffolding, refactoring and tests.
• Integrate LLM-based features where value is created: fraud signals, automation, analytics copilots.
• Own performance and reliability: profile hot paths, tune PostgreSQL queries, implement caching and background jobs.
• Review code (human and AI written), mentor engineers and set team standards for AI usage.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning and cross-team initiatives.
