Job summary

Redpanda Data seeks a Senior Product Engineer to turn a policy proxy into production infrastructure for agent governance. You will wire the Cedar-based enforcement path into our AI gateway, enabling secure tool calls and audit-ready decisions.

You will build scalable policy composition, extend operator coverage, and collaborate with security-conscious customers to ensure robust, testable protections in live environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in live request paths.
• Experience with Cedar or comparable policy languages.
• Understanding of AI agent failure modes and defenses.
• Comfort with adversarial testing and secure-by-design mindset.
• Experience with globally distributed teams and open collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-grade Cedar-based enforcement in the AI gateway.
• Extend two-tier policy composition and authoring tools.
• Develop policies for authorization, data exposure, and semantic gating.
• Produce auditable, traceable enforcement records for customers.
• Collaborate with design-partner customers on real security needs.
• Communicate risks, mitigation plans, and roadmap ideas.
