Qualifications

• Hands-on OpenTelemetry experience and production use of observability tools.
• Proven track record designing SLIs and multi-window burn-rate alerts.
• Experience building safe CI/CD pipelines with blue/green and canary releases.
• Strong Kubernetes experience; Nomad is a plus for IG’s hybrid estate.
• Production-quality coding in Java and/or Python for reliability patterns.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the reliability platform and tooling.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability across services.
• Maintain SLOs, error budgets, and burn-rate tracking.
• Ensure 24/7 readiness with automated deployments and zero-downtime patches.
• Engineer self-healing capabilities and auto-remediation.
• Design and run chaos experiments to improve resilience.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines embedding reliability practices.
• Mentor junior SREs and contribute to SRE standards.
• Own incident response and post-incident learning.
• Collaborate with platform teams on SLOs across customer journeys.
