Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design and build the API and gateway layers unifying our Data & AI Platform. You will create APIs/SDKs on distributed services, implement RBAC/ABAC and manage identity flows, and integrate multi-cloud service communication across Azure and GCP.

You will lead observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Grafana, and drive CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions in a hybrid Poland-based setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform or software engineering experience.
• Expert in Python and FastAPI.
• Experience building APIs/SDKs on top of distributed services.
• Proficient with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of IAM concepts including RBAC/ABAC and token delegation.
• Experience with CI/CD automation (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design and build APIs and SDKs on distributed platform services.
• Define gateway architecture, orchestration and routing patterns.
• Implement RBAC/ABAC and token delegation at the gateway level.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with test-first delivery.
• Produce service contracts and documentation for platform adoption.
• Integrate services across Azure and GCP with private endpoints.
• Establish observability using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
