Job summary

Intellias is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and operate secure, scalable agent communication infrastructure built on AWS AgentCore Gateway. The role focuses on A2A protocol implementation, agent discovery and routing, gateway architecture, authentication, and multi-agent platform integration.

The ideal candidate combines strong Python backend engineering skills with deep expertise in distributed systems, API gateways, and AI agent ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform or backend engineering experience.
• Experience in API gateway design and implementation.
• Proficiency with AWS AgentCore Gateway and A2A protocol.
• Strong Python backend development using AgentCore SDK.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and identity-based routing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agent communication platforms using AWS AgentCore Gateway.
• Build backend services and integrations using Python and AgentCore SDK.
• Develop agent discovery, registration, routing, and invocation workflows.
• Design secure trust models for agent-to-agent communication.

As an Engineer, you will become a part of Core Architecture Team and be responsible for the architecture, implementation of best practices in our Digital Engineering Enterprise Platform.

Requirements:

• AWS AgentCore Gateway (A2A protocol - agent card registration, routing, enforcement)
• Python backend engineering (AgentCore SDK)
• A2A protocol specification (agent discovery, invocation lifecycle, trust model)
• AgentCore Gateway deployment topology design (single vs. per-tenant)
• Performance and security testing for gateway workloads

Experience:

• 5+ years platform or backend engineering
• API gateway design and implementation
• OAuth 2.0 and identity-based routing
• Experience with AI/LLM agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI)

Will be a plus:

• AWS AgentCore Gateway A2A enforcement model hands-on

Responsibilities:

• Perform gateway performance testing, load validation, capacity planning, and latency analysis.
• Conduct security testing and threat assessments for agent communication channels.
• Collaborate with security, platform, and AI engineering teams to establish operational standards and best practices.
• Create technical documentation, architecture guidelines, and platform implementation standards.
• Support production operations, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of gateway infrastructure.
