Job summary

Warsaw Hub @ Helvetia Baloise Group is seeking a Senior Platform DevOps Engineer focused on observability and platform integration. You will design, implement, and operate platform services with emphasis on telemetry, automation and Kubernetes integrations.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to enable secure, reliable platform capabilities, contribute to CI/CD tooling, secrets management and multi-cluster OpenShift environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with observability platforms and telemetry concepts.
• Proficiency in container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes) and cloud integrations.
• Programming basics in Python or Golang; familiarity with Operator Framework.
• Strong GitOps mindset and platform engineering background.
• Fluent English; German is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate the enterprise observability platform (Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Thanos).
• Own monitoring, telemetry onboarding, troubleshooting and standards.
• Implement and support platform integrations for Kubernetes, VMs, automation workflows.
• Develop and operate CI/CD tooling, secrets management and deployment automation.
• Contribute to AWS- and Azure-based services, GitOps, and multi-cluster OpenShift environments.
• Share knowledge, onboard others, and support platform engineering initiatives.

Senior Platform DevOps Engineer – Observability & Platform Integration

Your job in brief

You are enthusiastic about cloud-native platforms, observability and DevOps engineering.

As a Platform DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for further design, implementation, evolution and support of platform services with a strong focus on observability, automation and Kubernetes platform integrations.

You consult engineering teams and enable them to use platform capabilities effectively, reliably and securely.

What awaits you

Further development and operation of the enterprise observability platform including Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Thanos and related integrations.

Ownership of critical monitoring and telemetry capabilities including migration concepts, telemetry onboarding, troubleshooting and enterprise monitoring standards.

Implementation and support of platform integrations for Kubernetes, virtual machines, automation workflows and cloud environments.

Development and operation of DevOps platform services such as CI/CD tooling, secrets management, artifact repositories and deployment automation.

Contribution to AWS- and Azure-based platform services, GitOps practices and multi-cluster OpenS hift environments.

Support for platform engineering knowledge sharing, technical onboarding.

What we expect

You bring strong platform engineering and DevOps expertise . Experience in several of the following areas is highly valuable:

Observability platforms: Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Tempo, OTLP/ OpenTelemetry , telemetry architecture and monitoring concepts

Container platforms: OpenShift, Azure DevOps and Azure platform integrations

Cloud and automation: AWS, Azure, Terraform, authentication, mTLS and platform service integrations

Software Engineering: Basic to intermediate knowledge in Python, Golang and the Operator Framework

Experience and strong preference for GitOps operating practices

Solid understanding and experience with certificate use cases and management of them (incl. mTLS , cert monitoring, oauth re-encrypt)

Nice to have: Experience in administrating and troubleshooting a Git Platform (GitHub, Bitbucket, Gitlab )

Nice to have: Hashicorp Vault, External Secrets, JFrog , Nexus, Jenkins, SonarQube and related DevOps services

Nice to have: KEDA, Argo CD, Sealed Secrets, ingress

Nice to have: Exp erienc e build ing c ost transparency and monitoring dashboard solutions

Nice to have: Knowledge transfer, coaching and apprenticeship support

B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Several years of experience in platform engineering, system engineering or DevOps within agile environments

Interest in software and platform architecture

Fluent English; German is advantageous
