Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Senior Node.js Developer to join our team in Gdansk/Krakow in hybrid mode (3 days in the office). You will contribute to design and development of microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-based solutions, while analyzing legacy systems and defining modern architecture.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering with Node.js, JavaScript, AWS experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience including Node.js.
• Strong JavaScript expertise with Node.js.
• Experience designing microservices and REST APIs.
• Hands-on AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, DynamoDB, CloudWatch.
• Knowledge of DynamoDB and PostgreSQL (DB2 legacy a plus).
• Familiar with TypeScript and Java.
• Understanding CI/CD, testing practices, and tools like Cucumber.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills; able to manage ambiguity.

You will also play a key role in analyzing legacy systems, defining architecture for transformation projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs
• Analyze existing legacy applications and define a target state architecture for modernization
• Implement and optimize solutions within a cloud environment using AWS services

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing microservices architecture and building REST APIs
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch
• Knowledge of database technologies including DynamoDB and PostgreSQL (DB2 legacy experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with TypeScript and Java
• Understanding of CI/CD, testing practices, and tools such as Cucumber and API testing frameworks
• Experience working in Agile development environments
