Job summary

Tieto Tech Consulting is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, configure, implement, and operate complex network and security solutions. You will troubleshoot LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, and NGFW environments and ensure performance, reliability, and security while supporting customers and on-site engineers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in network administration, hands-on firewall experience, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and excellent communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network administration.
• 5+ years managing Cisco/Fortinet/Check Point NGFW environments.
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (STP, LACP, 802.1X, OSPF, BGP).
• Strong TCP/IP knowledge (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, ICMP).
• Hands-on wireless deployment/troubleshooting.
• Experience with VPN solutions and encryption.
• Experience with network monitoring tools.
• Good Windows and Linux basic understanding.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Customer-focused mindset and strong communication.
• English proficiency Upper-Intermediate or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and operate complex network and security solutions.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, and NGFW environments.
• Perform patch management of network solutions.
• Monitor network performance and capacity; identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze network issues and their impact on customers’ business.
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Monitor operational status, gather and prioritize technical information, and provide reporting.
• Provide remote technical support to on-site engineers and customers.
• Analyze technical requirements and translate them into suitable network solutions.
• Proactively identify and propose improvements to services and solutions.
• Stay up to date with relevant network technologies, services, and products.

Tieto is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, configure, implement, and operate complex network and security solutions, troubleshoot network environments, and ensure their performance, reliability, and security. You will work with LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, and NGFW technologies while supporting customers and on‑site engineers.

Who We Are Looking For

• You have 5+ years of experience in network administration
• 5+ years of professional experience maintaining Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point Next-Generation Firewall environments
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and technologies, including STP, LACP, L2 security, 802.1X, OSPF, and BGP
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP stack protocols, including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and ICMP
• Hands‑on experience with wireless services, including deployment and troubleshooting
• Good understanding of VPN solutions and encryption services
• Experience with network monitoring tools and a strong understanding of network protocols
• Ability to quickly investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex network problems
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Customer‑focused mindset and strong communication skills
• English proficiency at Upper‑Intermediate level or higher

Will be an advantage

• Cisco CCNP Enterprise certification
• Fortinet NSE 4 certification
• Check Point CCSA certification
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP public cloud environments
• AZ-700 certification or equivalent
• Experience with Meraki cloud deployments
• Automation skills with Python, Bash scripting, APIs, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies
