Job summary

Job description
Our requirements:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a related technical field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in designing mechanical and marine systems, preferably in the yacht or shipbuilding industry
  • Knowledge of ship system design standards and classification society requirements (e.g. DNV, RINA, ABS)
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar)
  • Experience with system routing and equipment integration in complex vessel environments
  • Strong technical problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Good command of English (minimum B2/C1), both spoken and written
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to lead tasks independently
Your responsibilities:
  • Design of propulsion shaft lines and alignment
  • Selection and integration of propulsion units (propellers, waterjets, pods, etc.)
  • Design of marine exhaust systems, including silencers, backpressure control, and thermal insulation
  • Arrangement and installation of engine room machinery and auxiliary systems
  • Support systems such as fuel supply, lubricating oil, cooling water, and ventilation
  • Integration of the above systems into the vessel layout, with close attention to classification requirements, serviceability, and safety
  • Participation in sea trials and commissioning activities related to propulsion and mechanical systems
  • Preparation and supervision of 2D and 3D technical documentation, including system schematics, layouts, routing, and installation drawings
  • Collaboration with engine manufacturers and equipment suppliers to ensure proper installation and system performance
  • Collaboration with classification societies to ensure systems comply with relevant rules and regulations
  • Coordination with other design disciplines (hull structure, outfitting, electrical) and production departments to ensure integrated system solutions
  • Mentorship and technical guidance for junior designers and engineers
