Job summary

SOFTSWISS is seeking a Senior Manual QA Engineer in Poland to own backend QA for a microservice-based product. You will design test strategies, create checklists and test cases, and measure quality with meaningful QA metrics across the lifecycle.

You will work with Postman, REST APIs, and CI/CD (GitLab). Collaborating with product, infra, and business, you’ll report risks and help implement AI-assisted QA to speed up testing.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA of server-side/backend applications.
• Strong test design, risk-based prioritization, and exploratory testing.
• Experience improving QA processes in a mixed Scrum/non-Scrum environment.
• Hands-on experience with microservice-based systems; understand trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own QA for your product team end-to-end: test strategy, checklists, test cases.
• Measure product quality with meaningful QA metrics and indicators (not vanity numbers).
• Report QA status, risks, and plans to your team and product stakeholders.
• Review feature requirements early; surface gaps, ambiguities, and risks before development.
• Lead releases as the responsible QA; monitor deploy results in production.
• Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
• Validate data directly in the databases - daily work with databases.
• Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and business.
• Give product demos to the Product Owner.
• Research and adopt new QA approaches and tools, including AI-assisted QA.
• Continuously improve the team’s QA process.
