Job summary

Bamboo Health seeks a driven Software Engineer to design, code, and support web applications in a remote-first setup. You will collaborate with product and engineering leaders to translate healthcare workflows into high-performing software used by major health systems and retailers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in web development, strong HTML/CSS, Java/Spring Boot, and SQL skills, plus familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent.
5+ years of professional experience designing, coding, and testing web applications.
Proficiency with HTML/CSS and building pages to match design.
Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
Knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
Ability to work independently and deliver with limited oversight.
Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.
Comfort using AI-supported tools to improve daily workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, code, and debug assigned features for customer-facing software.
Collaborate with team and leadership to ensure design, performance, and security standards.
Analyze problem areas and propose solid solutions.
Plan and execute unit and functional tests.
Learn and apply new technologies as required by projects.
Partner with Product to translate healthcare workflows into software.
Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate debugging and code generation.
Contribute to system design discussions and scalable architecture patterns.
Improve observability with logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerts.
Participate in sprint planning and improve development flow.
