Job summary

Luxoft is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to improve security, reliability, and release cadence for critical banking apps. You will lead hands-on engagements with development teams, implementing remediation plans, modernizing legacy stacks, and enhancing CI/CD and observability.

You will write production code, upgrade runtimes, containerize with Docker, and deploy to OpenShift, while coaching teams and communicating risks and trade-offs to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience focusing on production applications.
• Expertise in Java and JVM-based development; TypeScript is valuable for Node.js projects.
• Strong Spring ecosystem experience; modernizing Java enterprise apps.
• Proven coding, debugging, and reviewing production code regularly.
• Hands-on testing: unit, integration, and regression; TDD in CI/CD.
• Secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and dependency risk analysis.
• Upgrades of runtimes/frameworks/libraries; container platforms like Docker/OpenShift.
• Linux administration, build tools (Maven/Gradle), Git workflows, production debugging.
• Observability, metrics, tracing, logging, dashboards; strong ownership and leadership.
• Client-facing communication; coaching engineers and setting sustainable standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy tech.
• Assess code, dependencies, runtime, test coverage, CI/CD, observability, and risks.
• Write, debug, review, and enhance production-grade code and config.
• Define modernization plans with priorities, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.
• Develop tests and automation; drive AI-assisted testing approaches.
• Provide secure coding guidance and remediation planning.
• Upgrade Java/JVM, NPM, Spring, libraries; manage upgrades of systems.
• Containerize apps with Docker; support OpenShift deployments.
• Improve source control, PRs, and code reviews; enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect resilient deployments and enable fast, safe releases.
