Job summary

Unikie is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support automotive ECUs and RTOS-based platforms. You will adapt software for hardware changes, qualify components and validate hardware with hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining the codebase, running regression tests and helping diagnose root causes across hardware and software layers. A strong background in embedded systems and AUTOSAR-like workflows is advantageous.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of embedded software experience on microcontrollers, including Arm-based devices.
Strong expertise in FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS or an equivalent RTOS.
Programming in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS environments, and Python/Rust.
Hands-on experience with board bring-up and low-level drivers for peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, GPIO, timers, ADC/DAC).

Responsibilities

Understand and work with the existing software codebase, build pipeline and regression tests.
Adapt existing software and develop or modify test routines for hardware validation.
Support evaluation of hardware design changes and replacement components.
Investigate issues with architecture, hardware and software teams to identify root causes.
Run regression tests to verify changes and ensure existing functionality remains.
Plan tasks with project leads, communicate findings, and meet timelines.
