Qualifications

• 10 years of overall experience or at least 5 years of strong AWS-focused engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, and networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong background in CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions.
• Comfortable working independently to build new systems and processes from scratch.
• Time zone flexibility to support partial 24-hour coverage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initial setup of DevOps and platform engineering practices.
• Design and deliver an internal platform for personal or feature environments.
• Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Implement observability tooling to detect and resolve issues proactively.
• Collaborate closely with developers to improve delivery and enhance reliability.
• Ensure high availability and uptime through effective monitoring and incident response.
• Promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
• Document systems, configurations, and incident processes for clarity.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24-hour reliability.
