Job description
ABOUT THE COMPANY

Schibsted & Vend Polska is a joint venture between two leading Nordic entities – a major media house, Schibsted, and a dynamic marketplace leader, Vend. With over 300 software engineers in Kraków and Gdańsk, we provide high-quality technological solutions that support the operations and innovations of both parent companies.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Mittanbud is Norway’s largest tender platform, established in 2009. It connects over 30,000 suppliers with customers nationwide and sends around 5,000 new work assignments each week. The service has expanded internationally — with Remppatori in Finland (2022), 3byggetilbud in Denmark (2023), ServiceFinder in Sweden (2024) — and more markets to come.

Our product is developed by teams in Oslo and Gdańsk.

In Oslo: around 30 people across backend, SQA, data, and frontend.

In Gdańsk: 10 engineers focused on the business-facing parts of the platform — for Web, Mobile (iOS, Android), backend/GraphQL and DevOps.
We’re now expanding to strengthen our infrastructure capabilities as Mittanbud scales internationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in Gdańsk. You’ll work in a stable and mature product environment alongside experienced engineers — maintaining, improving, and scaling our infrastructure as Mittanbud enters new markets.

We believe in learning and ownership.

Your work will include:
  • Managing and improving infrastructure in Kubernetes clusters
  • Using and optimizing AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, and Elastic Cache
  • Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform (DNS, IAM, GitHub/AWS users, EC2)
  • Building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for GraphQL and frontend deployments
  • Monitoring and performance tuning using Grafana with VictoriaMetrics and VictoriaLogs
  • You may also work with or learn:
  • Humio/Falcon – centralized logging for Kubernetes and Logstash,
  • Argo Workflows, Redis, Prometheus, Apollo Studio
ABOUT YOU
You have:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps or related role
  • Practical knowledge of cloud environments (preferably AWS)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Experience automating infrastructure and CI/CD processes
  • Strong English and Polish communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Ability to self-organize, prioritize, and collaborate effectively
It’s great if you also have:
  • Experience with observability tools (Grafana, VictoriaMetrics / VictoriaLogs)
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions and/or Argo Workflows
  • Curiosity for new technologies and a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Willingness to travel to Oslo once a year

We work in a hybrid model, combining the best of both worlds — regular collaboration in our Gdańsk office twice a week and flexibility to work remotely on other days.

Our Culture

At Schibsted & Vend Polska, flexibility, growth, and trust aren’t perks — they’re part of our DNA. We believe in psychological safety, open feedback, and autonomy that comes with accountability.

Working with Vend, you’ll also be part of a culture built on three core values:

  • Unite – We’re stronger when we move together.
  • Dare – We aim higher and challenge the status quo.
  • Deliver – We focus on creating real impact for users and customers.

This means you’ll join a team where learning, ownership, and collaboration come naturally — and where every contribution moves us forward.

Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Meaningful work in a product used daily by thousands of businesses
  • Transparent culture built on trust, autonomy, and balance
  • Opportunity to grow your impact as Mittanbud expands to new markets
  • Inclusive, international environment with Nordic work culture
