Job summary

Rydoo / Semine is seeking a skilled Database Engineer in Warsaw to optimize data platforms and analytics within a Microsoft-centric ecosystem. You will design data models, implement ETL pipelines, and build dashboards to empower data-driven decisions across internal teams and customers.

Ideal candidates have 5–10+ years in data analysis, database development, or data engineering with strong SQL/MSSQL, Azure, Power BI, and Python, plus English proficiency and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in data analysis, database development, or data engineering.
• High proficiency in MS SQL Server / T-SQL with complex queries, plans, indexing, transactions, and profiling.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory pipelines, OneLake, KQL, Direct Lake, Spark).
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and database optimization.
• Power BI reporting experience with data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and RLS.
• Basis in KQL (Kusto Query Language).
• Python for automation scripts and data manipulation.
• Experience using VS Code and AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot/Claude.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working proficiency in English (C1+).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and optimization of Azure-based data solutions.
• Monitor and improve performance of data pipelines and queries.
• Support data-related aspects of software development and analytics projects.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with strong experience in database systems, data processing, and analytics within a Microsoft-centric ecosystem. The ideal candidate combines deep SQL expertise, programming capabilities, and analytical thinking to drive insights from complex datasets and support data-driven decision‑making for both internal data and our customers through our SaaS solution.

As a Database Engineer, you will:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations
• Work with MS SQL Server and MS Fabric

• Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Grafana, or similar visualization tools

• Monitor and improve performance of data pipelines and queries
• Support data‑related aspects of software development and analytics projects

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in data analysis, database development, or data engineering
• High proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server / T‑SQL, including complex queries, execution plans, index design, transactions, query optimization, and profiling tools
• Hands‑on experience with Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory pipelines, OneLake, KQL/EventHouse, Direct Lake, SQL Endpoint, and Spark concepts
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and database optimization
• Power BI / reporting experience, including data modeling, DAX fundamentals, report performance tuning, aggregations, composite models, and row‑level security (RLS)
• Base skills in KQL (Kusto Query Language)
• Python skills for automation scripts, data manipulation, and API requests
• Experience using VS Code and AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar
• Familiarity with DevOps practices in Azure (CI/CD for data pipelines)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Working proficiency in English (C1+)
