METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Data Architect to design, evolve and govern our Enterprise Data Platform, enabling analytics, AI/ML, and data products across SAP, IoT and unstructured data. You will define architecture standards, ensure security-by-design, data governance, and scalable performance while partnering with engineering, data science and BI teams to deliver self-service analytics and data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture or leading data platforms.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and modern data tooling.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, cloud experience (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define scalable enterprise data platform architecture across lakehouse, warehouse, real-time and batch workloads.
• Establish standards for data ingestion, distribution, governance, and management.
• Define architecture principles for storage, processing, access, and API integration.
• Support batch, streaming, and event-driven workloads across sources like SAP and IoT.
• Design reusable platform services to accelerate delivery across domains.
• Implement enterprise data governance including metadata, catalog and lineage.
• Ensure security-by-design with RBAC/ABAC and data protection.
• Enforce data quality frameworks and data ownership models.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and high availability.
• Define monitoring, observability, and SLA/SLO-driven reliability standards.
• Promote DataOps, CI/CD, IaC, and platform lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, BI and architecture teams.
• Enable self-service analytics and data product development.
• Provide architectural guidance and act as technical authority on data topics.
