Job summary

Eleks is seeking a senior Data Engineer to join an international engineering team focused on building a modern analytics platform for insurance data. You will design and implement scalable data pipelines, mentor engineers, and collaborate with backend teams to deliver robust data solutions.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, architecture direction, and hands-on work with Databricks and Azure Data Factory within Azure Data Platform, in a dynamic, low-bureaucracy environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Hands-on Databricks experience.
• Hands-on Azure Data Factory experience.
• Experience with Azure Data Platform.
• Designing and maintaining data pipelines and Lakehouse solutions.
• Leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical direction of the platform’s data engineering solutions and architecture.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Collaborate with Backend engineers to design data models and integration solutions.
• Analyze requirements, review technical designs, and contribute to solution estimations.
• Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of data solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory
• Experience working with Azure Data Platform
• Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and Lakehouse solutions
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Strong SQL knowledge is a plus
