Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build data platforms that enable clients and partners to make informed decisions. You will work with Databricks and modern data warehousing technologies to deliver robust data solutions across global projects.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers and partners worldwide, applying SQL, Python, Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices to drive scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands‑on Databricks experience.
• 3+ years in Big Data.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed processing and data modeling.

We are looking for a top‑notch technology savvy specialist willing to move our projects on the new track! You will use the most advanced technology stack and have an opportunity to implement new solutions while working with top leaders in their industries. As a part of our global team you will participate in international projects mostly based on and implemented using major three cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AWS).

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer you are responsible for building data platforms that enable our clients and business partners to make efficient decisions with ease. You design robust solutions on state of the art data engines such as Databricks, and modern data warehousing solutions (Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake).

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 4 years of experience in Data Engineering area
• Hands‑on experience in Databricks
• 3 years of experience in Big Data
• You are proficient in SQL and Python
• You have background in data warehousing, data pipelines, distributed data processing, software engineering components and data modeling concepts
• Analytical problem‑solving skills, particularly those that apply to a big data environment
• Experience in working with structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data
• Experience in at least one public cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Strong experience in design techniques of relational databases and non‑relational storage
• Strong experience with concepts such as Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data Mesh
• Very good English (verbal and written)
• Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), DevOps and CI/CD principals

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Knowledge of data formats: Parquet, ORC, Avro, as well as emerging concepts like Deltalake/Apache Hudi/Iceberg
