Job summary

NordHR is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer for a leading international financial organization with a strong technology focus. You will join a Cloud Platform team responsible for developing and operating enterprise cloud platforms, focusing on Google Cloud Landing Zone.

You will design, build and maintain IaC with Terraform, Ansible, Python and Bash; implement CI/CD pipelines; work in a DevOps environment; contribute to governance, security and observability; manage hybrid connectivity

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience.
• Strong Google Cloud expertise at enterprise scale.
• Practical experience designing and operating a Google Cloud Landing Zone.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Google Cloud Landing Zone infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Develop central, reusable platform solutions for easy adoption by application teams.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Landing Zone changes with automated testing.
• Work in a DevOps environment with code reviews and PRs.
• Contribute to architecture documentation and governance practices.
• Establish cloud networking foundations including VPCs, Shared VPCs, and connections.
• Maintain hybrid connectivity between Google Cloud and on-premises data centers.
• Apply Zero Trust principles using Cloud IAM and VPC Service Controls.
• Ensure security, compliance, and observability of the platform.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer for our client – a leading international financial organization with a strong technology focus, whose digital solutions support millions of customers worldwide.

You’ll join a Cloud Platform team responsible for developing and operating enterprise cloud platforms. The role focuses on Google Cloud Landing Zone, combining hands‑on engineering, automation, networking, security and platform governance.

Scope of responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Google Cloud Landing Zone infrastructure as code using Terraform, with configuration management through Ansible and automation using Python and Bash.
• Develop central, reusable platform solutions that application teams can easily adopt.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Landing Zone changes, including automated testing of platform components.
• Work in a genuine DevOps environment, actively participating in pull requests, code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to architecture documentation and continuously identify opportunities to improve automation and eliminate manual work.
• Design and maintain the Google Cloud networking foundation, including VPCs, Shared VPC, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud Router and network segmentation.
• Build and operate hybrid connectivity between Google Cloud and on‑premises data centers using Dedicated Interconnect, Partner Interconnect and Cloud VPN.
• Apply Zero Trust principles using Cloud IAM, VPC Service Controls and appropriate security controls.
• Establish cloud governance, security guardrails and best practices using organization policies, Cloud Foundation Toolkit / Terraform blueprints and a well‑structured resource hierarchy.
• Ensure the platform remains secure, compliant and easy for application teams to use without unnecessary operational bottlenecks.
• Build and improve observability, including dashboards and monitoring that provide visibility into the platform.
• Take part in P1/P2 incident response, lead root cause analysis and drive improvements to prevent recurring issues.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands‑on cloud engineering experience, with strong and current Google Cloud expertise at enterprise scale.
• Practical experience designing and operating a Google Cloud Landing Zone, ideally using the Cloud Foundation Toolkit or an equivalent Terraform-based foundation.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Solid experience with Ansible for configuration and automation.
• Good programming and scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud networking, including:
  • VPC and Shared VPC architecture
  • Subnets and firewall rules
  • Cloud Router
  • Dedicated / Partner Interconnect
  • Cloud VPN
  • Google Cloud-to‑on‑premises connectivity
• Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and Google Cloud security concepts such as Cloud IAM and VPC Service Controls.
• Experience working with cloud governance, security and operational reliability in an enterprise environment.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes / GKE.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Cloud Operations / Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana or ELK.
• ITIL or similar service management experience.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
