Senior / Business Risk Manager - BCCM&R: Capability Development

Job ID: 7035

Would you like to help shape how Nordea prepares for and responds to difficult situations, so that we can continue to serve our customers with as little disruption as possible? We are looking for a colleague to join our Business Continuity, Crisis Management & Resilience (BCCM&R) Department in Nordea - a diverse and international group working together to help Nordea remain a safe, resilient and trusted bank for our customers.
You can be based in Poland: Gdańsk, Lodz or Warsaw.

About our team

You will help build and embed strong business continuity, crisis management and organizational resilience capabilities across Nordea. The role sits within the Capability Development (CapDev) program and combines learning and awareness, stakeholder alignment, process development and continuous improvement.

You will take an end-to-end perspective, connecting needs, processes, roles, learning solutions, tools, implementation and evaluation across the BCCM&R value stream. A key part of the role is to ensure capability-development activities are aligned with parallel programs and initiatives, and that dependencies, handovers and stakeholder needs are understood and managed. The goal is to create sustainable and adaptable solutions that help colleagues understand their responsibilities and contribute effectively before, during and after extraordinary events and crises.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Develop the end-to-end capability-development approach, from identifying business and stakeholder needs through design, implementation, adoption, evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Build alignment with key stakeholders and parallel programs and initiatives across Nordea, ensuring that dependencies, priorities, timelines and changes are understood and reflected in the capability roadmap.
  • Map current processes and value streams to identify gaps, overlaps, handover risks and improvement opportunities across learning, awareness and wider BCCM&R capability development.
  • Plan, develop and embed process improvements that simplify ways of working, strengthen governance and controls, and keep the capability adaptable to changing business, regulatory and stakeholder needs.
  • Create and facilitate training, awareness and knowledge-sharing activities for Group BCCM&R and relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Embed learning for BCCM&R key stakeholders to support consistent understanding and application of methodologies, roles and responsibilities across Nordea.
  • Develop an assessment and certification approach within the training and awareness program, supporting a controlled and evidence-based evaluation process.
  • Design, maintain and communicate an integrated roadmap for capability development, training and awareness that links stakeholder needs, program priorities, releases and intended outcomes.
  • Work closely with Nordea Learning and other relevant partners to prepare and update the training release calendar and coordinate implementation activities.
  • Establish feedback loops and use qualitative and quantitative insights to evaluate effectiveness, identify emerging needs and prioritize improvements.
  • Inspire and advise stakeholders by bringing up-to-date business continuity, crisis management and resilience perspectives into capability-development activities.
  • Promote the value of BCCM&R roles and responsibilities and support stakeholder commitment, adoption and sustainable ways of working.
  • Improve, standardize and streamline approaches by using appropriate learning, collaboration, automation and reporting tools, including Microsoft Teams, Camtasia, Power BI, Learning Requester and other Microsoft tools.

Who you are

Required qualifications:

  • A graduate degree and/or relevant professional or consultancy experience within business continuity management, crisis management, IT continuity management, minimum viable bank, civil preparedness and/or organizational resilience.
  • Experience working across a complex organization to develop and implement capability, training, awareness or change solutions.
  • Proven ability to align diverse stakeholders, navigate dependencies and collaborate across parallel programs, initiatives and functions.
  • Experience planning and driving process improvements, including translating identified needs or pain points into practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to take an end-to-end perspective and connect strategy, governance, processes, roles, tools, learning activities and outcomes.
  • Experience working with senior leaders in a functional, advisory or strategic capacity.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft products, including Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Fluent English with strong oral, written, facilitation and presentation skills.

Beneficial experience:

  • Experience with process mapping, value-stream mapping, service design or developing end-to-end operating processes.
  • Experience in a regulated company, preferably within financial services.
  • Experience with business continuity, crisis response management or related resilience disciplines.
  • Experience with video editing, digital learning and/or gamification.
  • A relevant professional certification in business continuity management, process improvement, change management or a related discipline.

Desired personality traits:

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in an evolving environment, with the ability to adjust priorities and approaches as needs change.
  • Curious and able to see connections across teams, processes and initiatives, while maintaining focus on the end-to-end value delivered.
  • Approachable and collaborative, with the ability to teach, facilitate, inspire and influence across functions and at different levels of the organization.
  • Structured and pragmatic, able to turn complex needs into clear plans, processes and workable solutions.
  • Proactive and improvement-oriented, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working constructively.
  • A critical thinker who can identify problems, understand root causes and develop innovative, sustainable solutions.
