Job summary

Optiveum is seeking a Senior Backup Administrator in Poland (Gdańsk or Łódź) to strengthen our BAU backup team and support migrations. The role requires hands-on NetBackup, NDMP, DNAS policies, and Dell Data Domain experience in a hybrid setup.

You will work independently on critical migration activities, document processes, and transfer knowledge to BAU teams, with a 3-day-per-week office presence. Polish native and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backup experience with NetBackup, including deployment and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of NDMP and DNAS backup policies.
• Experience with Dell Data Domain administration and NetBackup integration.
• Proven history of backup migrations, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer skills.
• Ability to work independently in a senior technical role.

Salary: Up to 110 PLN / hour

About the Project

We are currently looking for a Senior Backup Administrator for our client. In this role, you will strengthen the backup BAU (Business As Usual) team's capacity and provide dedicated project support for migration activities that are increasingly dependent on backup line unit availability. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the timely execution of planned migrations and the successful achievement of project milestones.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup deployment, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of both NDMP and DNAS backup policies (design, configuration, and support).
• Experience with Dell Data Domain administration and integration with NetBackup.
• Proven experience with backup migration activities, capacity management, and performance optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer skills.
• Ability to work independently in a senior technical role supporting critical migration activities.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with NAS migrations and storage platforms.
• Previous experience working in large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of backup governance, documentation, and operational processes.
• Experience in supporting infrastructure transformation projects.
• Ability to train and seamlessly transfer knowledge to BAU teams.
