Adstrong seeks an engineer who makes AI an integral part of development, owning from idea to production. You’ll design and build event-driven backends (primarily in Rust, with Python) and collaborate with the business side to convert requirements into working software.

You’ll influence architecture and data models as we scale, take ownership of applications, and contribute to an AI-first affiliate platform from a fully remote EU base.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Mid- or senior-level experience.
• Strong architectural awareness.
• Business-fluent English (C1+).
• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS).
• Experience with e-commerce or data-heavy platforms.
• Rust experience or readiness to make it your main language.

Your Role

• Build AI-first: plan with AI, steer coding agents and review their output critically.

• Turn goals into solutions: work directly with colleagues on the business side to gather requirements, agree on the approach and deliver working software.

• Make architecture and data-model decisions that keep our systems fast and reliable as we scale

• Take ownership of existing applications and build new solutions for our affiliate business.

• Design and develop event-driven backend systems that handle large volumes of product and campaign data, mostly in Rust and partly in Python.

• Own your topics end to end, keeping the team and stakeholders informed along the way.

Your Profile

• Experience contributing to a strong engineering culture, e.g. through code reviews, knowledge sharing, or improving team tools and ways of working.

• Daily hands-on work with coding agents: you plan with AI, delegate the implementation and know how to review what comes back, including more complex workflows like one model writing code while another reviews it.

• Strong architectural awareness: you know which components and infrastructure to use for which problem, and how to structure what you build.

• Rust experience, or curiosity about it and readiness to make it your main language, as most of our backend is written in it. C or C++ experience is a strong alternative.

• Experience solving problems close to ours, ideally in e-commerce, affiliate marketing, Google Shopping, Google Ads or other data-heavy web platforms. Our business team will help you build the domain knowledge.

• Experience with event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS or similar)

• A solid grasp of the full engineering process: requirements, design, trade-offs, testing and maintainability

• Mid- or senior-level experience. We care more about how you think and work than about years on paper. Our business team will help you build the domain knowledge.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

• Business-fluent English (C1 or higher).

Our stack: Rust (plus some Python) on the backend, and TypeScript / Next.js on the frontend. The frontend is owned by our frontend engineers, so experience there is a plus but not required.
