Job summary

DSV Air & Sea SAU seeks a senior backend engineer to develop and maintain enterprise services in the Digital Document Management domain. You will work with product owners, architects, and QA to deliver features, system integrations, and operational improvements while upholding high engineering standards.

You will contribute to CI/CD, observability, and collaboration with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams, applying SOLID principles and rigorous test coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern backend architectures.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Kafka, gRPC and event-driven microservices.
• Proficiency with Docker and CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, Argo CD).
• Understanding of observability practices and secure identity management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain critical Enterprise Services within the DSV Digital Document Management domain.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and other developers to deliver features and integrations.
• Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and improve software quality.
• Support production releases, deployments, and incident investigations with logs and observability data.
• Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration across teams.

Job description

The role:

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining critical Enterprise Services within the DSV’s Enterprise Digital Document Management domain. Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA engineers, and fellow developers, you will contribute to the successful delivery of new features, system integrations, and operational improvements while maintaining high engineering standards.

Your responsibilities:

• Backend implementation with Java springboot, PostgreSQL, gRPC, Kafka, event-driven microservices, Azure devops , Argo CD, Redis, Observability
• Familiarity with Java script frameworks is beneficial
• Previous domain knowledge of document processing is an advantage
• Play a key role in driving delivery of ongoing projects and maintenance sprints
• Follow established SDKs: coding standards, development practices, and architectural guidelines along with challenging and changing them when needed
• Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvement of software quality
• Maintain a strong focus on SOLID principles, test coverage, and clean coding practices
• Support production releases and deployment activities as part of the development team
• Ensuring domain/functional learning is a crucial aspect for effective software development
• Coordinate effectively with the testing/QA team during test cycles and releases
• Take part in root cause analysis and mitigation of an operational incident by investigating observability and application logs
• Engage in continuous collaboration with digital core communities and DevSecOps and infrastructure teams for frameworks, processes, SDKs, and best practices
• Work on automation, observability, and CI/CD excellence
• Be collaborative and teamwork-oriented with larger pictures in mind, promoting a positive working atmosphere

Our requirements:

It is expected that you have experience with most of the following technologies:

• BE language: Java
• BE framework: Spring Boot
• Relational database: PostGreSQL
• NoSQL database: MongoDB
• Event Streaming: Confluent Kafka, K streams
• Containerization: Docker
• Identity brokerage: Key cloak OIDC

There will be other adjacent, which you will be expected to learn about and engage with such as:

• FE library: React
• FE framework: Material-UI
• Load balancing: NGINX

This senior role is focusing on collaboration, teamwork with strategic development, and someone who can avoid siloed working. Following competences are needed:

• Business fluency in both written and spoken English is a must
• University degree in computer science, or equivalent education
• 4-6+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
• Effective cross-cultural communication with an international team
• Result oriented and collaborative working mindset
• Familiarity with agile software delivery methodologies e.g., SCRUM Kanban
• Experience in, JIRA, Confluence
