Sii Poland is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join a long-term project for a global leader in banking. You will work with an international team on innovative AI/ML solutions transforming Credit & Lending for corporate clients, contributing to production-grade systems and high-quality code.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software or ML engineering.
• Deep Python and ML ecosystem knowledge.
• Relational databases, vector databases, KV stores (Redis), Pub/Sub.
• Strong microservices, observability, API design and concurrency.
• Expert in LLM architectures and fine-tuning on domain data.
• Hands-on RAG, prompt engineering, agentic architectures.
• ML, deep learning, NLP fundamentals.
• Experience with Azure or GCP, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools.
• Experience with TDD and BDD.
• Excellent English presentation and communication skills.
• Residence in Poland is required.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain high-quality, testable, reusable code.
• Lead design of AI/ML solutions that are scalable and aligned with platform vision.
• Own engineering execution for major AI projects from design to production deployment.
• Co-author and promote coding standards and AI best practices for fairness and transparency.
• Co-drive technical strategy by prototyping new technologies (RAG, LLM opt, agentic architectures).

Job description

We are looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join a long-term project delivered for a global leader in the banking sector. As part of a highly skilled international team, you will contribute to the development of innovative AI and Machine Learning solutions, transforming the Credit & Lending area for corporate and institutional clients worldwide. You will cooperate closely with business stakeholders and engineers across multiple global locations to deliver impactful, production-grade solutions. The role requires occasional visits to the client’s office in Kraków, approximately 4 times per month.

Your tasks

• Write and maintain exemplary, high-quality, testable, and reusable code
• Lead the design of AI/ML solutions, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and aligned with the platform's vision
• Own the engineering execution for significant parts of our AI flagship projects, from technical design through to production deployment
• Co-author and champion coding standards and AI best practices to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability across our models
• Co-drive technical strategy by evaluating and prototyping new technologies, such as advanced RAG techniques, LLM optimization, and agentic architectures
• Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across the AI Programmes, translating business requirements into technical solutions and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences
• Develop and implement sophisticated solutions using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases to unlock insights from complex financial data

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software or ML engineering
• Deep expertise in Python and its ML/AI ecosystem
• Familiarity with relational databases, vector databases, KV stores (Redis), Pub/Sub
• Strong command of microservices architecture, observability, API design, and concurrency models
• Expert-level understanding of LLM architectures and extensive experience fine-tuning models on domain-specific data
• Hands-on mastery of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), advanced prompt engineering, and designing agentic architectures
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and NLP
• Proficiency with Azure or GCP, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools, e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GCP Cloud Build
• Practical experience in TDD and BDD
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills in English
• Residing in Poland required

Nice to have

• Leadership or architectural experience
• Familiarity with Java for occasional middleware and integration tasks
