Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior AI-Augmented Project Accountant to join the Life Cycle Services Finance team in a hybrid role with an office in Katowice. You will support project financial management, revenue recognition, and month-end reporting across a global portfolio.

You will collaborate with project managers, controllers, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial reporting, leveraging AI-enabled tools such as Power BI and Copilot, while advancing ERP initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of experience in project accounting, revenue recognition, financial analysis, or general ledger.

Responsibilities

• Perform project accounting activities for assigned entities and business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting across the project lifecycle.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition adjustments, and financial analysis leveraging AI-enabled tools.
• Review and analyze project financial performance: revenue, costs, margins, backlog, and contract balances; apply accounting knowledge.
• Prepare and maintain contract liability reconciliations in line with US GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
• Partner with operational teams, project managers, controllers, and FP&A to align operational performance with financial reporting.
• Support forecasting and planning by providing project-related insights, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations related to project accounting and revenue recognition; ensure completeness and accuracy.

Job Description

As a Senior AI-Augmented Project Accountant, you will be a key member of our Life Cycle Services Finance team. You will be responsible for supporting project financial management, revenue recognition, and month-end reporting activities across a global portfolio.

You will work in hybrid model of work with office in Katowice and report directly to Junior Manager - Project Accounting.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform project accounting activities for assigned entities and business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including project-related journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition adjustments, and financial analysis, leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and analyze project financial performance, including revenue, costs, margins, backlog, and contract balances, applying accounting knowledge
• Prepare and maintain contract liability reconciliations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and internal revenue recognition policies.
• Partner closely with operational teams, project managers, controllers, and FP&A organizations to ensure alignment between operational performance and financial reporting.
• Support forecasting and planning processes by providing project-related financial insights, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations related to project accounting and revenue recognition processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and resolution of outstanding items.
• Utilize Power Query, Power BI, Copilot, and other advanced Microsoft tools to streamline reporting, automate repetitive activities, and improve data quality.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization, simplification, and automation, partnering with Rockwell's Digital Powerhouse team and business stakeholders to implement scalable solutions.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, including testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI-driven and automated processes, ensuring solutions effectively address accounting and business requirements.
• Help implement the IFS Cloud ERP platform within the LFS organization. This includes participation in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), process validation, documentation reviews, issue resolution, and post-go-live stabilization activities.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of experience in project accounting, revenue recognition, financial analysis, general ledger or a related finance role.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Minimum B2 level of English (spoken and written).
• Good understanding of US GAAP / IFRS principles, particularly revenue recognition concepts.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced reporting tools.
• Practical experience with Power Query, Power BI, Power Pivot, Copilot, or similar digital finance tools.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience in process improvement, automation projects, Power Automate, VBA, RPA, or other digital transformation projects.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and automation technologies to improve finance processes and business outcomes.
