Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one‑of‑a‑kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long‑lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

The Project Security Representative is responsible for supporting Project Security activities on the project in support of the Bechtel scope of work. Implements security policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Access Control System Coordinator
  • Process and/or monitor all persons entering the Bechtel Warsaw Project Office.
  • Verify ID documents of non-Bechtel employees entering the office.
  • Act as Security Point of Contact (SPOC) for all security concerns/events at Warsaw Project Office during regular work hours.
  • Issuing and retrieval of ID badges.
  • Control of persons and traffic flow in the offices.
  • Preventing unauthorized people from entering security zones of the offices.
  • Monitoring of contractor activity in the offices.
  • Informing visitors of HS&E and Security requirements during their visit.
  • Promptly informing Project Security Manager of any event that constitutes a security event, breach of security rules or poses a threat to the security of Bechtel employees or Bechtel property.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all information obtained during the performance of their duties.
  • Maintaining order and taking the necessary interventions in the event of a threat.
  • Carrying out other instructions from superiors as required.
  • Develop applicable plans, procedures and processes commensurate with Project Security Representative.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 3+ years of related professional experience, in lieu of a degree, 4 years of military service or police service” or any LEA.
  • Must be a Polish citizen.
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a personal security clearance issued by the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) or Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW).
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Formal and specialized training in security, industrial relations, personnel and resources, or associated disciplines, and significant experience with law enforcement, public or private sector security organizations.
  • Prior experience in security programs, including program planning, personnel and administration.
  • Fluency in Polish and English
  • High level of text analysis and source retrieval skills
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Excellent time management, organization, and coordination skills
  • Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions under time pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to cooperate smoothly in a multicultural environment
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office environment
