Summary of Position
To enhance the effectiveness of educational services for students with special education or mental health service needs through consultation with families of students enrolled in BCIU operated programs and/or Berks County School Districts.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as liaison between home, school, and community resources and provides referral and follow-up to such resources.
- Assist families in applying for medical assistance or other community/governmental supports.
- Coordinate the information and efforts of clinics and private therapists working with students, helping parents to understand their child's development and disability.
- Coordinate and serve as a member of multidisciplinary teams as requested.
- Provide support to teachers and aides through consultation, group work with students, participation in parent conferences and IEP meetings.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work and school social work certification required.
- License in Social Work required.
- Ability to work independently, make work‑related decisions, and exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
- Experience in counseling, working with families, accessing mental health services, and familiarity with special education.
- A working knowledge of community agencies and government assistance programs.
Schedule
Full‑time, 35 hours/week, 10 months/year

- Bachelor: $51,419 to $80,190
- Bachelor+15 credits: $52,136 to $80,915
- Bachelor+24 credits: $52,927 to $81,715
- Master: $62,870 to $92,455
- Master+15 credits: $63,563 to $93,155
- Master+30 credits: $64,255 to $93,855
- Master+45 credits: $65,641 to $95,255
- Master+60 credits: $66,877 to $96,505
