Job summary

Knauf Information Services GmbH is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to manage SAP S/4HANA, ECC and BW across multiple platforms. You will handle transports, performance monitoring, and complex issue resolution while supporting cloud initiatives and security standards.

The role requires strong SAP and database knowledge, ITIL certification, and excellent communication with diverse teams. English fluency is essential; German is a plus in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience administering complex SAP environments, including SAP Basis, platform and database knowledge and ITIL certification.
• Service-oriented, proactive team player with analytical and solution-focused mindset.
• Strong communicator and stakeholder manager able to collaborate across SAP, infra, network, security, cloud and vendors.
• Experience or interest in leading technical projects; fluent in English, German knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW and other SAP solutions across SAP Azure, SAP RISE and other platforms.
• Manage SAP transports and technical changes; monitor availability, performance and health.
• Troubleshoot SAP Basis and platform issues, including on-call support as required.
• Support HANA and other SAP databases; contribute to migrations, DR, backup and recovery.
• Implement SAP security and automate administration; document procedures and standards.

What you'll do

• Administer and maintain SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW and other SAP solutions across SAP Azure, SAP RISE, SAP Business Technology Platform and other platforms, including installations, upgrades, patches, kernel upgrades, system copies, refreshes and environment provisioning.

• Manage SAP transports and technical changes across development, quality and production environments; monitor availability, performance, capacity and technical health.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP Basis and platform issues, including performance, connectivity, jobs, dumps, locks, availability and critical incidents, including on-call or out-of-hours support where required.

• Support HANA and other SAP database platforms, infrastructure and cloud initiatives, including migrations, integrations, platform modernisation, high availability, disaster recovery, backup and restore activities.

• Implement SAP security, technical compliance and system-hardening standards; automate administration through scripting and suitable tools; maintain documentation, operating procedures and platform standards; and collaborate with technical teams and vendors to deliver projects and resolve issues.

Who you are

• Proven experience administering complex SAP environments, including strong SAP Basis, platform and database knowledge, with IT Service Management certification such as ITIL.

• A service-oriented, proactive team player with a practical, analytical and solution-focused mindset, committed to delivering excellent customer service and getting things done efficiently.

• An effective communicator and stakeholder manager, able to build strong relationships and collaborate with SAP, infrastructure, network, security, cloud and external vendor teams.

• An enabler who empowers teams to succeed and brings a positive, collaborative and creative approach to solving problems.

• Experienced or interested in leading technical projects from start to finish, passionate about emerging technologies, fluent in English and ideally proficient in German.
