Mistral is seeking a Research Software Engineer for the Sandboxes team. You will design, build, and operate a platform that runs isolated environments for untrusted code at massive scale across Kubernetes clusters.

This role combines deep infrastructure work with product-minded platform design, not ML research. You will write clean, reliable systems code in Rust and Python, review CI/CD pipelines, and own security boundaries and monitoring.

Formación

• Software eng experience with distributed systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, cross-cluster networking, observability or virtualization.
• Fluency in Python or Rust.
• Strong design, testing, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Self-starter with fast learning and high ownership.
• Collaborative, low-ego mindset in a small team.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate sandboxing platform across Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop sandbox runtime using Firecracker for fast startup and efficient scheduling.
• Improve performance to support millions of concurrent sandboxes.
• Write robust systems code in Rust/Python and maintain CI/CD and observability.
• Own cross-cluster networking, security boundaries, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with researchers and ML engineers to translate needs into features.
