Job summary

Evotym in Warsaw is seeking a Risk Manager to oversee the risk lifecycle for e-commerce merchants on the card acquiring platform. You will work at the intersection of merchant risk, fraud risk, and card scheme compliance, supporting the Head of Risk in enterprise-wide risk management.

The role offers a path to Risk Director, high-impact projects, and exposure to fintech-scale operations. You will analyze merchant activity, ensure compliance with Visa/Mastercard rules, and implement risk

Qualifications

• 1+ years in risk, underwriting, merchant onboarding or fraud roles.
• Understanding of card scheme rules, MCC classifications, merchant risk monitoring.
• Basic AML/CTF knowledge to identify red flags.
• Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard risk programs and reporting.
• Experience with enterprise risk assessment frameworks or risk registers.
• English level: C1; Russian level: C1.
• Experience in fintech sector.

• Conduct risk-based due diligence and onboarding of e-commerce merchants.
• Assess merchants against Visa & Mastercard scheme rules and internal risk policies.
• Monitor merchant activity, transaction trends, and compliance with card scheme thresholds.
• Investigate suspicious merchant activity and implement risk mitigations.
• Perform ongoing merchant risk reviews and AML-related monitoring.
• Assist with enterprise risk management activities and risk reporting.
• Support risk projects and prepare risk reports for senior management.

Role Overview

As a Risk Manager, you'll play a critical role in managing the risk lifecycle for e-commerce merchants on the card acquiring platform. This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of merchant risk, fraud risk, and card scheme compliance. You will have the opportunity to support the Head of Risk in institution-wide risk management, making a significant impact within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk-based due diligence and onboarding of e-commerce merchants.
• Assess merchants against Visa & Mastercard scheme rules and internal risk policies.
• Monitor merchant activity, transaction trends, and compliance with card scheme thresholds.
• Investigate suspicious merchant activity and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
• Perform ongoing merchant risk reviews and support AML-related monitoring.
• Assist with enterprise risk management activities, including risk assessments and reporting.
• Support risk projects, process improvements, and prepare risk reports for senior management.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a risk, underwriting, merchant onboarding, or fraud-related role.
• Practical understanding of card scheme rules, MCC classifications, and merchant risk monitoring practices.
• Basic knowledge of AML/CTF principles sufficient to identify red flags and elevate appropriately.
• Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard risk programs and reporting processes.
• Experience with enterprise risk assessment frameworks or risk register maintenance.
• Languages: English C1, Russian C1
• Experience in fintech
