Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a newly established SSC in Gdańsk, offering a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office. The role focuses on financial reporting duties across UK GAAP and IFRS, with exposure to group reporting under US GAAP.

You will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and IFRS 17 reporting processes while collaborating with stakeholders across locations and functions, in a global, fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or audit.
• Pursuing ACCA, CIMA or another relevant professional qualification.
• Strong IFRS knowledge; IFRS 17 exposure is advantageous.
• Experience in financial services, insurance or reinsurance beneficial.
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Fluent English in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Assist with preparation of reporting packages for Group reporting under US GAAP.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review accounting entries related to financial services activities.
• Support IFRS 17 reporting processes, including reconciliations and analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial and Group Reporting teams for data accuracy.
• Prepare financial analyses and variance commentary for management reporting.
• Support statutory reporting and external audit requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

Job Description

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Assist with preparation of reporting packages for Group reporting under US GAAP
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare and review accounting entries related to financial services activities
• Support IFRS 17 reporting processes, including reconciliations, analyses and reporting schedules
• Work closely with Finance, Actuarial and Group Reporting teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
• Prepare financial analyses and variance commentary for management reporting
• Support statutory reporting and external audit requirements
• Contribute to process improvements and finance transformation initiatives

The Successful Applicant

• 2-3+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or audit
• ACCA, CIMA or another relevant professional qualification in progress
• Good understanding of IFRS accounting principles; exposure to IFRS 17 would be an advantage
• Experience within financial services, insurance or reinsurance would be beneficial
• Practical experience with month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory
