Job summary

RTX is seeking an SAP S/4 HANA ABAP Backend Developer to work remotely from the U.S. across a distributed team. You will design, develop, and document applications focused on S/4HANA ABAP and ABAP Cloud, driving clean core extensibility and migration efforts from ECC to S/4HANA.

The role requires 5+ years of SAP ABAP experience, proficiency in ABAP 7.5 and RESTful ABAP, and familiarity with UI5, Fiori Elements, and SAP Cloud Platform. A strong lifecycle and performance discipline is expected.

Qualifications

• University degree with 5+ years, or advanced degree with 3+ years, or 9+ years with no degree.
• SAP ABAP development experience and SAP projects.
• Awareness of clean core extension concepts (in-app, developer, side-by-side).
• Proficiency in ABAP7.5, ABAP Objects, ABAP Code Pushdown, RESTful ABAP, queries, BOs, EML, ABAP CDS, SAP Workflow.
• Experience upgrading ECC to S/4HANA UI5, Fiori & Fiori Elements; BTP Platform & Cloud Foundry; JavaScript, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document and support solutions focusing on S/4HANA ABAP and ABAP Cloud.
• Develop using clean core extensibility models for key-user, developer and side-by-side.
• Contribute to migrating multiple ECC systems to a unified S/4 HANA system.
• Establish enterprise-wide standards for development and integration, including S/4 clean core techniques.
• Assess and optimize performance of new and existing programs.
• Work through the full software lifecycle, including documentation and artifacts.
