Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking a Research Engineer to join our research team, focusing on large-scale web crawling for frontier AI models. You will own crawling systems that source data from the open web, tackling extraction, deduplication, recrawl, and politeness at scale.

We value engineers who can build distributed pipelines, evaluate data quality, and create tooling for researchers to access fresh datasets quickly. This fully remote role offers global collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and scaling web crawlers or scraping systems for ML data.
• Experience with distributed systems at scale (Kubernetes, queues, or custom pipelines).
• Ability to assess data quality, coverage, and compliance; build tooling to measure it.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate large-scale, distributed web crawlers to source data for AI models.
• Address content extraction, deduplication, recrawl strategies, and rate-limiting challenges.
• Design pipelines to find high-value sources, including multilingual content, for datasets.
• Create tooling to request, monitor, and explore newly crawled web data quickly.
