Job summary

Expenti is seeking a Backend Java Software Engineer on a 1-year contract (extendable) to join our team. The role is fully remote with occasional travel to our headquarters in Málaga, Spain.

You will design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot, and build robust integrations with iGaming operators and external partners. You will implement REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and automated testing, collaborating with Product, Architecture and QA to ensure

Qualifications

• Proven backend software engineering experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of backend and distributed-system design.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with external systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot; build robust iGaming operator integrations.
• Implement REST APIs, asynchronous integrations and event-driven services for high-volume transactions.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Quality and Platform teams to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions with strong test coverage.
