Job summary

Sweco Design Center Poland is seeking an experienced civil engineer with railway design expertise to contribute to multidisciplinary projects in infrastructure, transport, and urban development. The role includes creating drawings and 3D models, producing technical descriptions, and coordinating with Track, Ducting, Ground, and Electrics teams.

The position offers hybrid work in Poland and opportunities to collaborate with teams in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, with English proficiency required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecom (railway planning/design) is preferred.
• Experience in Railway/Light rail/Tramway/Subway planning and design and drafting templates.

Responsibilities

• Perform design work – drawings and models.
• Prepare reviews of own and others’ work.
• Produce system descriptions and plan descriptions.
• Work on railway design assignments with layout and drawings.
• Coordinate with Track, Ducting, Ground, Catenary and Electrics disciplines.

The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Responsibilities:

• Perform design work – both drawings and models;
• Prepare review of own and others work;
• Produce results in the forms of system descriptions technical descriptions, plan descriptions;
• Working on railway design assignments with lay out, installation, and other relevant drawings;
• Collaboration within the discipline and coordination with other disciplines such as Track, Ducting, Ground, Catenary and Electrics, etc.

What type of projects you work with:

We work with projects of varying sizes, both large and small. Our main client is the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) as the end-user, but we also collaborate with other public clients (such as municipalities) and contractors. Our projects cover all stages and may involve different requirements for documentation, drawings, 2D/3D models, and calculations.

Our requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
• 5+ years of experience of relevant experience in telecom;
• Experience in Railway/Lightrail/Tramway/Subway planning and design, template design, cross sections, and drawing preparation;
• Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken);
• Good to have: experience with technical leading, any kind of Swedish experience.
