Job summary

Envision Imaging is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician III to support the radiology team in McKinney. This as-needed role involves safeguarding patient comfort, preparing for exams, and assisting technologists with IV placement and contrast monitoring under radiologist guidance.

The position emphasizes accurate patient screening, order management, and coordination with referring providers to update and clarify orders, ensuring smooth patient flow and timely exam preparation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of healthcare admin experience; radiology setting preferred.
• Experience placing IVs and managing contrast reactions under radiologist guidance.
• Detail-oriented, fast-paced team player able to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed clinical screening of patients for technologist review.
• Assists patients with securing valuables and changing attire.
• Initiates IV for contrast studies and provides medical attention for contrast reactions under radiologist guidance.
• Prepares exam room and non-sterile trays for technologists/radiologist.
• Ensures safety procedures in all center zones.
• Assists with patient prep and escorting to waiting area.
• Manages priors from external studies and organizes imaging files for interpretation.
• Sends images via PACS to appropriate location.
• Coordinates with referring provider to obtain updated orders and clarify as needed.
• Collaborates with Scheduling Coordinator on exam/prep changes.
