Job summary

Corning Incorporated, a global leader in glass, ceramic, and materials science, is seeking a passionate Product Design Engineer for international project teams. You will design new products, adapt existing ones to customer needs, and manage the full development cycle from concept to validation.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in product design and development.
• Proficiency in leading a 3D CAD environment (PTC Creo preferred).
• Knowledge of sheet metal forming and plastic injection molding processes.
• Fluent English and Polish; Chinese will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the design of new products within international project teams.
• Adapting existing products to meet customer requirements.
• Participating in the full product development cycle (definition, concept, prototype, validation, implementation)
• Modeling and simulating proposed solutions.
• Creating technical documentation (3D and 2D).
• Introducing new products into the manufacturing process.
• Reporting project status in accordance with organizational requirements.
• Creating technical reports and generating patent applications.
• Presenting solutions to internal and external customers.
• Collaborating with other departments and supporting members of other project teams.
• Coordinating tests for full product qualification.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Your Responsibilities

Requirements

• Higher education degree; preferred fields: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines
• 5 years of experience in product design and development; industry knowledge is an advantage
• Proficiency in leading 3D CAD environment (PTC Creo preferred)
• Knowledge of technical documentation standards
• Knowledge of sheet metal forming and plastic injection molding processes
• Fluent English and Polish; Chinese will be an advantage
• Analytical thinking skills
• Ability to create conceptual sketches is an advantage
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a global environment
• Ability to clearly articulate technical ideas
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
