We are seeking a Principal Engineer (Physical AI & Digital Twin), to lead the technical build of an AI-first enterprise simulation platform on the full NVIDIA stack for a global heavy-equipment manufacturer that is scaling autonomy, robotics, digital twins and physical AI. In this role, you will own the platform architecture from day one, working between a multi-discipline engineering team and the client’s engineering leadership to define how digital twins are built and kept in sync with real data, lead the design of simulation AI agents that remove manual engineering effort, and set the SimOps practices that let simulation scale.
Responsibilities
- Platform Architecture: Own the technical architecture of the AI-first simulation platform built on Omniverse, Isaac Sim, OpenUSD, RTX and PhysX, serving autonomy, robotics, synthetic data and validation teams.
- Digital Twins: Define how digital twins of machines and sites are built, composed and kept in sync with real data.
- Simulation AI Agents: Lead the design of AI agents and workflow automation that handle scenario generation, setup, execution and analysis, removing manual engineering effort and speeding up autonomy development.
- SimOps Practices: Set how scenarios, assets and simulation runs are versioned, automated and scaled.
- Technical Team Leadership: Guide six engineers across physics, sensors, rendering, USD, robotics and synthetic data, and align their work with the client’s autonomy, robotics and synthetic-data priorities.
- Client Engineering Leadership: Represent the team in technical discussions with the client’s engineering leaders and explain architectural trade-offs.
Requirements
- Principal-level, end-to-end technical leadership on the NVIDIA simulation stack: Omniverse, Isaac Sim, OpenUSD, RTX and PhysX.
- Digital Twin Delivery: Track record of designing and delivering digital twins of vehicles, robots, machines or industrial sites used in production engineering work.
- AI for Simulation: Deep AI background, including building AI agents that automate scenario generation, setup, execution and analysis.
- Multi-Team Platform Design: Proven ability to define the architecture of a simulation platform that serves several teams with different needs.
- Cross-Discipline Leadership: Experience leading a multi-discipline team technically and explaining trade-offs to senior engineering stakeholders.
- Python & C++: Strong working proficiency in both languages.
Nice to have
- Autonomy Validation & Sim-to-Real: Experience with simulation for autonomy validation and sim-to-real transfer for off-road or heavy machinery.
- SimOps at Scale: Experience with CI for simulation, scenario libraries and large-scale batch simulation on GPU clusters.
- NVIDIA Ecosystem: NVIDIA ecosystem partnerships or contributions to Omniverse, Isaac or OpenUSD.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel to client sites when needed.
We offer
- Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projects
- Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team
- Competitive salary
- Flexible schedule
- Benefits package - medical insurance, sports
- Corporate social events
- Professional development opportunities
- Well-equipped office
