The Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS in Warsaw invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics. Work is conducted on a project titled “Transcription factors and their activating mutations: mechanisms of gene expression regulation in health and disease.”

Salary is 11,000 PLN gross per month, with private medical insurance, Multisport card, and a social fund. Position runs until 2029-08-31; apply by 15.09.2026.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, or related field.
• Publications and references demonstrating genetics and molecular biology interest.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, cloning, Western blotting, qPCR, library prep; familiarity with RNA-Seq/ChIP-Seq.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field,
• Interest in genetics and molecular biology, demonstrated through publications and references,
• Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including mammalian cell culture, cloning, Western blotting, qPCR, and library preparation; familiarity with sequencing-based methods such as RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq is expected,
• Experience in microscopy, scRNA-Seq, FACS, and CRISPR-based cell line engineering is desirable but not required; candidates without prior experience should demonstrate strong motivation to learn these methods,
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment,
• Proficiency in English (the project involves collaboration with international colleagues).

Scope of tasks:

• Conduct research outlined in the project in collaboration with other laboratory members (Ph.D. students, technician) and external collaborators,
• Actively participate in group meetings, including experimental planning and troubleshooting ,
• Perform data processing and analysis,
• Contribute to documentation of protocols, results, and reproducible workflows.
