Job summary

Praesidiad Group is seeking an Independent GL Accountant / Chief Accountant for Poland. You will manage end-to-end general ledger, statutory compliance, and financial controls in line with Polish GAAP and Group standards, overseeing AP/AR activities and ensuring accurate reporting.

The role reports to the Finance Manager, with regular interaction with regional stakeholders. Strong English, Polish GAAP knowledge, and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong GL / Financial Controlling background, ideally in a hybrid SSC/local finance model.
• Solid understanding of Polish GAAP, the Polish Accounting Act (UoR), VAT, CIT, WHT, and statutory compliance.
• Experience with OneStream and major ERP systems (IFS/Oracle preferred) is a plus.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end General Ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, allocations and management adjustments.
• Execute month-, quarter- and year-end close in line with Group calendars and policies.
• Review AP/AR subledger postings for correct accounting treatment, cut-off, and valuation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (AP, AR, VAT, payroll, intercompany, etc.) with robust documentation.
• Improve close processes and controls in collaboration with Group Finance.
• Own intercompany accounting for Poland and ensure transfer pricing documentation.
• Load results into OneStream and provide variance analysis versus budget and prior periods.
• Support statutory accounting and regulatory reporting under Polish GAAP; assist with external audits and tax provisions.
