Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Platform Engineer II to build and maintain platform services for its globally distributed AI inference infrastructure, including data plane APIs, authentication, and multi-tenant security.

You will work on reliability, scalability, and maintainability while collaborating with senior engineers across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Akamai Cloud, embracing FlexBase remote options in Poland.

Qualifications

• Experience building data plane APIs for distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go, Python or Java for systems programming.
• Experience with REST/gRPC in a distributed environment.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data plane APIs enabling reliable inter-service comms.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant security controls.
• Contribute to design of scalable, reliable platform services.
• Write well-tested, documented code and participate in reviews.
• Support operations with monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
