Job description

Join our Controlling Practice & Operations (CP&O) team as Occupancy Cost Controller Europe, reporting to Europe Cluster Lead, and making a significant impact on our capability in real estate controlling.

Function Mission Statement: Deliver top-notch financial planning and controlling services by analyzing metrics, identifying trends and issues, communicating insights, and recommending actions to enhance financial performance.

How you will make an impact:

Financial analysis: Monitor and analyze all occupancy-related costs, including rent, utilities, maintenance, and other facility expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process optimization initiatives. Develop and maintain robust financial models and reports to support the allocation of occupancy costs across various business units. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records in accordance with accounting standards and internal guidelines.

Month-end-closing: Lead all financial closing activities related to real estate. Provide detailed analysis and insights to local and regional stakeholders, as well as the Global Real Estate Controlling team. Conduct proactive reviews of financial statements and independently follow up on discrepancies or issues.

Forecasting: Prepare and submit accurate forecasts of future occupancy costs, drawing on historical trends, lease agreements, maintenance schedules, and input from real estate managers. Ensure forecasts are well-documented and aligned with business expectations.

Budgeting: Coordinate the end-to-end budgeting process for local real estate costs, ensuring alignment with local, regional and group-level requirements. Document key cost drivers and demand assumptions and implement approved budgets promptly in SAP.

Collaboration: Serve as a financial business partner to local real estate teams, offering expertise in occupancy cost controlling. Actively contribute to both regional and global process improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices are shared and implemented.

Your background:

Strong accounting and controlling background with a bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related field.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with independent problem-solving capabilities.

The ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders, including management and auditors.

Proactive with a strong commitment to quality and adherence to strict deadlines.

Proven experience in SAP FICO is a must and REFX understanding is a preferred. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
