Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain EU security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Ensure database availability and performance across distributed infrastructures.
  • Provide advanced support for database-related incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and operational issues.

Freelance Opportunity: Microsoft Database Administrator


We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Database Administrator to join a large-scale enterprise environment supporting critical business and operational systems. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex Microsoft SQL infrastructures, modern data platforms, and business intelligence technologies within a highly secure and technically demanding setting of a major EU institution in Warsaw.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Administer, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server environments

  • Ensure database availability, performance, and reliability across distributed infrastructures

  • Provide advanced support for database-related incidents and service requests

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and operational issues

  • Implement and manage database deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities

  • Execute ETL processes and support data integration initiatives

What We're Looking For


  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques

  • Experience with SQL scripting, ETL workflows, and data processing solutions

  • Understanding of cloud-based data services and modern data platforms

  • Experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric services and related capabilities

  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools

  • Experience operating within virtualized environments

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a relevant field

  • At least 5 years of professional IT experience

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a Microsoft Database Administrator position or similar role

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

  • Possibility of up to 70 % offsite delivery after the first month
