Allegro's xLab team is hiring an Android Developer to build components for our Design System and strengthen our Android UI across platforms. You’ll design, code, test, and deploy native Android components in Kotlin, collaborating with product and design teams in a hybrid Poznań office model.

We require 2+ years of Android experience, knowledge of Jetpack Compose and XML, and a strong understanding of MVVM/MVI. English and Polish communication skills are essential.

About the team:

As xLab, we're responsible for building the Design System for Allegro. We aren't a typical "feature-building" team - we are an internal unit with significant independence and ownership. We're looking for an Android Developer to help us create new components and strengthen our Developer Value Proposition. We don't just build components; we co-create the environment and the engineering culture surrounding how our Design System is used across the company.

Our team develops native web and mobile components that are crucial elements of Allegro’s Design System. You'll cooperate closely with other Android developers and will be responsible for creating and maintaining elements of the UI.

Important things for you:

• Flexible working hours in the hybrid model (4/1) - working hours start between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. We also have 30 days of occasional remote work.
• The salary range for this position depending on the skill set is as follows (contract of employment, tax-deductible cost): PLN 14 600 - 20 825 gross.
• Annual bonus based on your annual performance and company results.
• Our team is based in Poznań.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy UI components, ensuring high quality, performance, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help maintain high code quality standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile technologies and industry trends.

We are looking for people who:

• Have 2+ years of professional experience in native Android mobile application development (Kotlin).
• Have an understanding of Jetpack Compose and the View system (XML) as we’re working in both approaches.
• Have an understanding of mobile application architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Using AI on daily basis to support your work (research, code review, code creation)
• Have experience in close cooperation with the Design team.
• Are familiar with Figma.
• Have experience (or are ready to learn) in writing unit and integration tests.
• Are open-minded, curious, and willing to experiment. Our work goes beyond writing code - consulting and looking for alternative solutions is part of our daily duties.
• Take care of the quality and cleanliness of the code.
• Are eager to continuously develop their skills and expand their knowledge.
• Have good communication skills in English and Polish, both written and spoken.
